Kennedy is growing SO fast. She is now 9 months old and so full of energy! If she had her way, she would go non-stop and never sleep. She still has trouble settling down to sleep most nights... more now that she can sit herself up. I think she pushes herself up and sits there wondering why she can't fall asleep like that! She generally sleeps well through the night though, it's just hard for her to settle down.
She continues to get faster and faster with her army crawl. Very rarely does she actually push herself up to crawl... she's got it down to a science the way she does it! Nothing in our house is safe and everything has been pulled up off the floor so she can have full reign. She has tried "sneaking" down the back steps and has had several "baths" in Henry's water bowl.... quick lessons learned for mom and dad! She loves to pull electrical cords out of the wall, which is something I have to be constantly aware of!
She continues to eat well... but is still pretty picky. She wants nothing to do with juice... or a lot of finger foods, but I have been trying to push those more and more. She weighed in at 18 lb. 1 oz. (36th percentile) and 27 -1/2"L (40th percentile). The doctor was not too concerned about her size, but said we should make sure to keep her eating as much as we can... focusing more on foods rather than bottles (which she still prefers).
I have purchased the "big girl" car seat.... but have yet to install it into the car... it feels a lot like leaving the "baby" stuff behind... so that may be why I have been dragging my feet! She is just getting a bit long and heavy to haul around in the infant car seat for too much longer.
Kennedy loves to talk and yell constantly. You can generally always tell where she is because of her sing-song noises! She is totally infatuated with Henry and he is totally bewildered by the fact that she is fast enough to catch him now! He is generally patient, but sometimes gets pretty annoyed and has to move to another room until she forgets about him. :) Kennedy has also developed a bit of shyness in certain situations, which is normal for her age. She is generally good with other women, but I can see her shyness coming out when she is in unfamiliar situations.
All-in-all she keeps us busy and is constantly entertaining us with her new discoveries. She has an infectious giggle and her eyes are always searching for something new to figure out :) Here are some recent photos:
On the move!
Henry had to have his picture taken too...
Kennedy - 9 months.
Pulling herself up in the crib, the mattress had to be lowered after we figured this new trick out :)
So cute :)
Henry does not look amused :)
Up to no good ... as usual!
Busted! ehhee.
