Kennedy was a pumpkin for Halloween this year. She had her 6 month shots (+flu and H1N1) on Friday and was feeling very under the weather on Saturday so we did not dress her up. I dressed her up and took these photos the following week. Kennedy went to stay with grandma and grandpa Johnson on Halloween so that mommy and daddy could go to a fun Halloween party.
It was an 80's themed party and Zach went as Tom Cruise from Risky Business (This is the costume you get to wear when you procrastinate to a few hours before the party! hehe!) I was Grumpy Bear from the Care Bears. I have now re-purposed this blue sweat suit to wear around the house... how frugal! :) The party was a lot of fun!
Kennedy struggled this past week with her first real cold. Poor thing was completely miserable and uncomfortable. We did what we could to keep her happy and she has finally turned the corner and is feeling better.
At her doctor's appointment last week she weighed 16lb. 11 oz. (65th percentile) and is 27" long (95th percentile!!!!). The doctor said that she looks great and is very healthy. As I mentioned above, she had to get 5 shots and that was pretty miserable. She generally does pretty well with the shots, but this time it was so many that she came pretty unglued! Poor thing! I was so relieved that my doctor's office had the H1N1 vaccine in when we had our appointment! Many hours spent worrying about that!
Kennedy has been changing and growing every single day. She is a complete joy and we are so amazed at the light she brings to our lives. She loves her exersaucer and jumping horse. She also plays on her playmat and is trying very hard to crawl to get things. It won't be long before she has this mastered! She wants to grab for everything in sight... and put everything in her mouth. Her two little teeth on the bottom are working their way up... they will be here soon. She talks and babbles and occasionally yells! heheh! Here are some recent photos:
Kennedy can sit up by herself now, but falls over when she turns to look at something. She gets really frustrated when she falls over. Soon she will have this whole sitting thing mastered!
Thara came up this past weekend to help me make baby food for the first time. It was a great time and I am thankful for her guidance! I was able to buy almost everything fresh and organic... so that was great. We made: apples, peas, carrots, butternut squash, broccoli and cauliflower. Kennedy has not really taken an interest in eating. She has been unwilling to eat baby cereal, but has been eating a bit more now that I am mixing it with baby food. She would much rather have her bottle :)
Yummm! Most of it actually looks pretty tasty!
Zach is still keeping busy at his new job. He is now done coaching football and has another week off before he starts coaching 7th grade basketball.
